OPI Colour So Hot It Berns

Image
This is by far my most favourite nail polish colour of all time. I only have a mini bottle currently but need to track down a full size one asap! It's from the 2010 Fall Swiss Collection so I'm not sure how hard it will be to find a full size bottle at this point. It's the perfect red. This is two coats with a top coat.

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioning Shake Spray

Image
I received this product as part of a set of three products to review from Chick Advisor. I was wearing of the leave in conditioner aspect of this product, and I am not normally a hair product type. The scent of this product is the same as the shampoo and conditioner which is great, though I'm not sure how well the scent will pair with other shampoos. I am sure to run out of the shampoo and conditioner before the spray. I have been using this product before straightening my hair so far. I love that this product doesn't leave my hair feeling crispy like I put product in my hair. That is the main reason I don't use hair products because I hate the way they make my hair feel. I find it leaves my hair looking a bit smoother when I straighten it. I have wavy/curly hair naturally, and since cutting it shorter my hair is definitely more curly which makes this product almost a must to keep the frizz to a minimum. I would definitely recommend this product as long a...

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioner

Image
I received this product as part of a set of three products to review from Chick Advisor. As with the shampoo I was kind of worried about these being a part of the Pantene brand just because I find Pantene products don't work well on my oily hair. The conditioner has the same scent as the shampoo and spray. It's not overpowering but definitely a scent that stays so you can smell it during the day. With the conditioner in this line I definitely need to remind myself when I'm in the shower to use very little of it! This can be both a good thing, and a bad thing. Good because you use less product so you can justify the hefty price tag since it will last much longer. On the other hand it's a bad thing, because I find with the conditioner it's too moisturizing for my hair. Just before receiving the products to test I had my hair cut shoulder length and I find the conditioner leaves the ends of my hair looking a little bit stringy if I use too much. ...

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo

Image
I received this product as part of a set of three products to review from Chick Advisor. At first I was sort of weary about testing out products with the Pantene brand because from past experience the Pantene formula didn't pair well with my super oily thick hair. My hair would look greasy again in a few hours time after washing it and I never liked the general feel of my hair after using the brand. I think the Aqua Light product has made me change my mind on hating the brand completely. The formula with this shampoo just feels better compared to other shampoos from the brand. It has a nice scent that isn't too overpowering, but yet it lingers just enough to make me feel like my hair is still freshly washed. It holds up well when compared to the other brands of shampoo I use, though I could do without the extra hydration it provides because my hair does not need it! I do find this shampoo to be nice and light weight and it rinses out of my hair well. I feel...

Julep Maven June Box

The swatches for the June Maven boxes are out! Here are the boxes this month: http://blog.julep.com/june-maven-swatches I have chosen to skip the month because I loathe pink and I feel like I already have the same shades of the other polishes but in different brands. I also have a ton of untried polish from the last few months of maven boxes that I really feel I should get through and wear before thinking about more maven boxes. I also have to admit that being an adult sucks and I feel like I need to be focusing more on necessity expenses when I already have a huge collection of polish sitting unused. Growing up is great until you realize that money is the root of all evil!!

Dove Original Beauty Bar

I received this product a couple of weeks ago to test from Chick Advisor and have been using it since. Now at first I was very weary of trying it because it is moisturizing and I have VERY oily skin. Even though this is the original bar it has a very strong scent! The whole bathroom smells like this Dove bar! I don't mind the smell though so it's fine, but if you are a sensitive scent person it probably won't be for you. Based on the scent factor, I would probably never ever attempt to use this bar on my face no matter what because my skin is picky especially my face. I didn't want to risk a huge break out after my skin has been clear so long. The soap left my skin soft and smooth and I haven't noticed my skin breaking out at all which was one of my biggest concerns when I first received it. My skin is very sensitive and picky about what products I can use and because of that I rarely ever stray too far from my tea tree oil soap that I usually buy. I'm not sur...

Julep Maven May Box!

Image
I received my Julep box for May today! I wish I wasn't in the middle of exams or I would be trying out the magnetic polish right now. The colours are from top to bottom: Nessa (bright lemon sorbet), Ashley (sunset orange with metallic micro shimmer), and  Kylie (sultry violet MAGNETIC polish). Yes the purple is magnetic!! I'm most excited for that one but I forever fail at doing fancy things with my nails so we will see if it actually works for me. There is also a sample of pedi creme which went straight to my mom since she needs pedi stuff badly.   Now the only issue with this months box is that the brush in the polish Ashley is terrible! It's all flared out and frayed. There is no way I can even use this colour until I have a replacement brush which is unfortunate. A lot of people are having this problem and Julep is sending out replacement brushes to anyone that emails them. Since I'm in Canada though I probably won't be able to test the orange out for ...
