How To Beat Winter Dryness.
Now I don't have this problem at all because I have naturally oily skin that is like that all year around! But I do battle with dry itchy scalp in the winter.
- Adjust your bathing habits. Take shorter baths or showers and use warm water not hot. Also if possible skip a day showering or bathing (depending on skin type.)
- Dry off gently, patting the skin dry in order to retain as much natural moisture as possible.
- Apply a good moisturizing lotion over entire body. If you have severe dry patches use hydrocortisone cream.
- Don't use soap or cleanser when washing your face as it takes away more moisture and nutrients from your skin.
- Moisturize your face and neck with a good moisturizer morning and night. Tip: don't use a heavily fragranced moisturizer for your face, most cause unwanted pimples.
- Use a loofah to remove dead skin cells.
- Use a good hand moisturizer to keep your hands from chapping.
- Use a gentle shampoo and a good conditioner to prevent dryness and flaking.
- Drink lots of water as it helps to make up for the loss of moisture in your body during the winter. As well as eat a well balanced diet.
